Programs
Moremi Initiative Leadership Empowerment and Development Program (MILEAD) identifies and invites senior and junior fellows to take part in a year-long- development program. Young women and girls selected as Fellows, progress through three phases that include 1) education and training, 2) mentoring, networking, and professional internships, and 3) support and resource assistance.
The program recruits women throughout Africa as well as refugees and immigrants who have settled in the Diaspora.

Moremi initiative Senior Fellows Summer Institute (19-25 years)
Every year Moremi Initiative will organize a summer institute that operates in a host country in Africa. Each institute will have over up to 40 fellows attending classes where they interact with experienced leaders, mentors as well as one another. Courses employ a combination of lectures, skills training workshops, group discussions, role-playing, reading, projects, field trip, counseling, film etc. Each course is led by experts who have experience and expertise in public, business, and academe. The 2009 summer institute will take place in Accra- Ghana from July- August this year.Click here for application forms
Moremi initiative Girls Congress (13 – 18 Years)
Girls Congress (Girls Inspired through Role Models, leadership development and Support) is an annual interactive forum designed to engage, inspire and equip girls to be active participants in their communities and to grow to become the next generation of leaders. The annual congress aims to engage and equip girls between the ages of 13 and 19, with critical leadership and interpersonal skills to enable them realize their full potential and become agents of change in their communities. Through social networking technologies, skills training workshops, role-playing, assigned readings, projects, field trip, counseling, film, meetings with key leaders, case studies of successful leaders and presentations, and the program will provide opportunities for knowledge and resources fellows need to lead. The School-based Congress will be based on the Annual Congress and will be operated as an after school program in schools in target countries. Moremi Initiative will develop a toolkit to guide participants and their schools in implementing and maintaining the program.The Moremi Womentoring
A uniquely designed initiative to link determined young women with outstanding potential with women influential leaders and professionals with the rich experience necessary for inspiring the younger generation. The “Womentoring” program allows young women leaders to spend from half-day to a full weekend with the most influential woman in their lives and begin a process for a long term mentor-mentee relationship. Additionally, young women will also receive ongoing mentoring through the Moremi Virtual Womentoring program- where women mentors are profiled and signed-up the Moremi website through a secure interface, mentees are signed up and linked to the mentors.Moremi Initiative for Research and Advocacy Program (MIRAP)
Aims to conduct empirical research to stimulate dialogue and advocates for actions that can lead to policy changes. Prominent professionals, alumni, and current participants are invited to conduct research on African women’s leadership issues in order to develop a broad base of knowledge about African women leaders that takes into account different leadership styles and perspectives throughout Africa as well as tracks emerging sociopolitical challenges and opportunities facing women in Africa.Moremi Initiative Leadership Conference (MICONFERENCE) and Summits
Hosted annually to establish an interdisciplinary African community committed to the development of women leaders.
